Effects of estradiol on women
Effects of estradiol on women
The research on estradiol shows very interesting effects it has on the women body and mind. Read more about it.

Serial monogamists immediately turn to someone new and better. (jlp)
Opportunistic serial monogamists
Psychologists at the University of Texas, Kristina Durante and Norman Li, showed that women with a high concentration of the sexual hormone estradiol are more demanding of their partners and more prepared to exchange them for a better “catch” – better genetic material or a better material provider. They practice something these two psychologists called opportunistic serial monogamy.
The hormone which gives women their sex appeal
Large concentrations of estradiol are connected to characteristics which are generally known to be attractive to men: big breasts, narrow waist and relatively wide hips – the sand clock figure, and an attractive symmetry of the face. A typical representative would be Marilyn Monroe.

Marilyn, the prototype of a sexy woman who was a serial monogamist with increasingly difficult standards for partners.
52 women, aged from 17 to 30, who weren’t taking contraception pills, were asked how sexy they find themselves compared to other women, how satisfied they are with the current relationship, how ready they are to have casual intercourse and they were also asked about their previous relationships.
All the women were measured for the concentration of estradiol in their saliva.
It’s not about adventures, but about a better catch
The other group of people, consisting of members of both genders, evaluated the attractiveness of the women involved in the survey. Women with a higher concentration of estradiol were deemed more desirable and they also evaluated themselves better. They also showed less satisfaction with the current partner, a greater desire to meet new potential long-term partners and they admitted to having more long-term relationships in the past. They weren’t very interested in adventures, but they were more willing to change their current partner for a more appropriate one than other women.

Estradiol obviously also gives women more satisfaction with how they look. (jlp)
From a hormonal and Darwinist point of view being suspicious towards a very sexy partner is perhaps more justified, but don’t forget that we are supposedly not only guided by our hormones. Just in case, you can still make an effort to be a “good catch”.
