How to Use Enema

Why should one do colonic irrigation, and how should one use enema?

People get goose bumps when they hear the words ‘enema’ or ‘colonic irrigation’ and think of stomach problems, while others think of purifying the body, or they associate enemas with anal sex. Some people also think of the thrill provided by using enema in SM games.

With regard to reasons for colonic irrigation, its users can be roughly divided into two groups, those who use colonic treatment for medicinal purposes and those who use enema for increasing sexual pleasure. We will focus on the latter.

Reasons for colonic irrigation

 
There are varying opinions on the necessity of colonic irrigation for the purposes of anal sex. Some people swear by enema and believe there's no other way to go about anal intercourse, while others warn that colonic treatment can have negative consequences and that personal hygiene and good digestion are enough for anal sex.

They're basically right: the rectum isn't a storage organ for faeces. It's the final part of the large intestine and it is therefore sufficient if you wash yourself after defecation. There'll be no faeces in the rectum during anal sex, perhaps you'll only find a trace of them on a condom.

Different procedures for colonic treatment

 
The most recommended place for using enema is the bathroom or some place near the toilet because you won't have much time to reach the toilet once it's time to go there. Don't remove the pipe until you're sitting on the toilet.

If you use enema for very specific reasons, you can do it anywhere, and if you have other plans with the waste, you can do it in the bathtub because later on it can be scrubbed easily. Protect the bed so that enema won't cause you more problems than joy. Think through where you will put your waste. You can prepare a special bowl.

There are various positions used in colonic treatment. Let's list some of them: position on the side (lower leg is stretched, upper leg is bent towards the thorax); ‘doggy’ style (on the knees and elbows, the buttocks are high up in the air, and the forehead can remain on the floor); on the back (both knees are bent and together, the feet are apart); over the knee (you lie over the knee of your partner as if he wanted to spank you; since this position creates a lot of pressure on the abdomen, it's advisable that your partner spreads their legs so you can place your abdomen between them).

Some people use only lukewarm water. You need about 1.7 pints. How much water you enter into the rectum and how long you hold it inside is a matter of both experience and personal preferences.

You should start gradually, with 0.8 pints of water, hold it inside for 15 minutes, discharge it and repeat the procedure. Later, you can increase the amount of water up to about 1.7 pints. However, exaggerating and increasing the amount isn't recommended. How much water you'll accept also depends on the emptiness of your bowel. If it's full, you'll certainly use less water. The water you use should be lukewarm (up to 39 °C – warm water causes a burning sensation, while cold water causes additional cramps).

Some people use only water, while others add lemon, coffee, tea, soap, honey and milk, or even wine or beer. Be extremely careful while doing colonic irrigation because alcohol absorbs rapidly through the bowel and intoxicates you. If you really want to add alcohol, add it in very small amounts. Use of liquor isn't recommended as it can cause death!

Use of salt isn't advisable because it irritates the bowel. Suppositories that are laxatives also aren't recommended.

Some practical advice

Colonic irrigation is carried out rather fast, but don't perform it just before sexual intercourse. It's better to wait so the bowel can calm down and the mucuous membrane can be restored. The pipe inserted into the anus has to be lubricated with vaselin or some other lubricant. The irrigator should be placed at least 40 inches above you to increase the pressure and allow water to flow easily.

 
During insertion, take a few deep breaths and massage your abdomen. The first time you use enema you can have cramps, which can be alleviated by correct breathing and a massage.

You can buy instruments for colonic treatment in a drugstore and shops selling sex toys. Don't share your enema with your partner! If both of you like colonic irrigation, each of you should have your own instruments.

The recommended frequency of colonic irrigation

 

Excessive use of colonic irrigation isn't recommended because you can get addicted to it. You can get used to this manner of defacation, and then your bowel gets idle and isn't capable of discharging normally, i.e. with peristalsis. This means that when you stop regular colonic treatments, normal defacation will be rather irregular. Too frequent enema also drains away the necessary microorganisms in the bowel. There's a higher risk of sexually transmitted infections.

Before you finally decide for colonic treatment, consider all the pluses and minuses. If you decide to do it, do it safely!
