Jokes of having a headache as an excuse when not feeling like having sex are widely known. There is however the possibility of getting a headache after sex.

Sexual activity, more so orgasm, can trigger headache. During sexual intercourse some notice tension in the head and neck, which gradually increases to end up as a headache after orgasm. Some describe a sudden headache even during orgasm.
Most headaches that develop during sex have no special meaning. If they repeat however, you should inform your GP about it. Sometimes these headaches developing during the sexual intercourse are a warning of some changes in our organism, such as bleeding in the brain or a stroke.
