How was the relevant study conducted?

A Scottish university in collaboration with universities in Belgium conducted a study on the connection between a woman’s orgasm and her walking style. 16 female participants completed a questionnaire on their sexual behaviour and were then videotaped while walking in a public place. Videotapes were then examined by two sexologists and two assistants trained in the area of sexology, who did not see the questionnaire and had no idea about the women’s orgasmic history.

Vaginal orgasm and walking style

Results showed that appropriately trained sexologists could correctly infer women’s vaginal orgasm in more than 80 per cent by watching the way women walked. The study also showed that women who experience orgasm have longer strides and greater vertebral rotation. “This could reflect the free, unblocked energetic flow from the legs through the pelvis to the spine,” explained experts.

There are other plausible explanations for the results of the study. According to one of them, a woman’s anatomical features may predispose her to greater or smaller tendency to experience vaginal orgasm.

In what way is one's gait related to one's ability to achieve orgasm?

Blocked pelvic muscles, which might be associated with psychosexual impairments, could both impair vaginal orgasmic response and gait. For example, vaginally orgasmic women may feel more confident about their sexuality, which might be reflected in their gait,” explained sexologists.

Such confidence might also be related to the relationship that a woman has - vaginal orgasm is associated with better quality of relationships. The study has also linked vaginal orgasm to better mental health and thus provided support for treating sexual dysfunctions with multi-therapies such as the combination of physiotherapy and focusing on pelvic muscles.
